Your Body Follows Your Mind Natural healing practices have captivated me for over 20 years, and the following statement is a starting point for learning how to take charge of your life. During an appointment with a new client, I always ask what they want to change about their health; knowing that your body follows your mind is a powerful tool.
The true science behind this statement is that you can change anything just by altering your own thoughts. So, health really begins with modifying how we see ourselves, our health, or the lack thereof. I include this powerful statement on every supplement sheet and encourage my clients to focus on it. You first have thoughts that then become your words and finally your actions. I see so many women who are very critical of themselves. They are unable to see the beauty they have within. Early on, someone taught them that they didn’t count or have any value. My goal is to help others find their own diamond, which lies in an untouched place deep inside each of us. Knowing about this diamond reflects who we really are, not what we believe about ourselves. After pondering this statement, you will soon realize that you have the power to transform how you see yourself, your health, and your life. You are powerless over people, places and things. The only true power that you have is power over your own thoughts. Imagine this thought for a moment: So many people know more about the other person than they do themselves. What is that really telling you? For me, it is saying that I am not important and that others have more value than I do.
Science tells us that what we think about will affect our cell communication at a very deep and intimate level. So, what would a person be “thinking” in order to cause the cells to inflame and communicate through an expression of cancer, auto-immune, thyroid disease, adrenal exhaustion, and other imbalances in the body, including too much weight? The very foundation of health is to know what you are thinking and believing at a deep level about YOU. A journey begins with the first step and that step helps you to take the next. We all have character assets and defects. The key is to accept all of you. Thinking more positive thoughts about ourselves and having an awareness of the defects that hurt others, including ourselves, is the beginning of true knowledge and wisdom.
Loving yourself is one of the most difficult and rewarding things that you can do for YOU. When you love yourself, you won’t allow others to take advantage of you or hurt you in any way. If you have healthy love and respect for yourself and that very special diamond you were meant to be, you will have no desire to hurt others; your love for you will go out into the world. And, how can we change the world? By loving self, you change one person at a time and you change the world. This sounds simple, and it is not easy but to love your neighbor as you love yourself is a deep spirituality.
